How to Choose a ComfortBilt Pellet Stove
Start with the space you want to heat. Each ComfortBilt stove lists a maximum heating area, but real results depend on your climate, insulation, ceiling height and floor plan, so treat the rating as an upper limit. If your home is drafty or your winters are hard, size up.
Next, compare hopper capacity and burn time. A bigger hopper means fewer refills: the HP22-N carries an 80-lb hopper with up to a 30-hr burn time, while the HP21's 40-lb hopper runs up to 16 hours on low. Then decide between a freestanding stove and the HP22i, a fireplace insert that comes with a shroud, ash vacuum and remote.
Controls matter for daily comfort. The HP21, HP22, HP22-N, HP22i and HP61 offer five power settings. The HP22 has a programmable 7-day thermostat, the HP22-N and HP22i include a programmable thermostat, and the HP21's thermostat is programmable from 61–82°F. The HP21 and HP50S include a remote control and automatic ignition, and the HP61 comes with a remote. Product data lists EPA and CSA certification for the HP21, HP22, HP22-N, HP22i, HP50S and HP61.

Comparing ComfortBilt Coals Kamado Grills
A kamado's thick ceramic shell holds heat and moisture, so one grill can sear, smoke, bake and roast. Pick a size based on how many people you usually cook for and whether you need to move it. The 13" model suits balconies and small patios, while the 23" and 26" grills give you room for a full spread. Every Coals grill comes in Black or Red.
| Model | Cooking surface | Max listed heat | Highlights |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coals 13" | 10.7" | 840°F (420°C) | Weighs 39 lbs, built-in thermometer, top and bottom vents |
| Coals 15" | Not listed | 840°F | Thick ceramic shell, stainless steel grates, built-in thermometer |
| Coals 21" | 412 sq. in. | 840°F | Four caster wheels (two lockable), thermometer with large bezel |
| Coals 23" | 487 sq. in. | 840°F | Stainless steel stand, folding side shelves, spring-loaded lid hinge |
| Coals 26" | 680 sq. in. | 450°C | Hinged section for fuel and chip access, four-wheel stand |
The 21" and 23" grills carry a 1-year warranty that excludes ceramic cracking.

Installation and Care Tips
Pellet stoves need proper venting and safe clearances to walls and floors. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and your local building codes, and consider a qualified installer, especially for a fireplace insert. Burn clean, dry wood pellets, empty the ash and clean the burn pot regularly, and inspect the vent before every heating season.
For a kamado, break in a new grill with a few low, slow fires before high-heat cooking. Adjust the dampers in small steps, since ceramic responds slowly. Never douse a hot ceramic grill with water, keep it covered when not in use, and lower the lid gently to protect the shell.
