RADtec
RADtec patio heaters bring targeted warmth to decks, covered patios, porches and restaurant terraces. This collection has eighteen RADtec models in two groups: electric infrared heaters that mount on a wall or ceiling, and freestanding propane towers with a visible flame. You can choose a slim Zero Light heater with WiFi app control, a high-output Torrid Series unit for a large covered patio, or a plug-in bistro table heater. Prices start from $170, and RADtec orders usually ship within 1–3 business days.

Electric or Propane: Choosing the Right RADtec Heater
RADtec makes every heater in this collection. The lineup splits into two quite different tools. Electric infrared models mount on a wall or ceiling and warm people and surfaces directly. They suit covered patios, pergolas, screened porches and restaurant terraces where you want permanent heat that stays out of the way. Propane models stand on their own base and need no gas line. Their visible flame also works as a focal point on open patios and at events.
Answer three questions before you choose:
- Is the space covered or open? Mounted electric heaters need a wall, beam or ceiling to attach to. Freestanding propane towers can go on any stable, level surface with clear space overhead.
- What power do you have? Most RADtec electric heaters here run on 220V or 220-240V power and are hardwired. The G15R and the SBT-15S bistro table heater run on 110V and use a standard USA plug.
- Do you want light, or just heat? E Series Zero Light heaters give off no visible glow. Golden Tube models glow while they run. The flame series make the fire part of the look.

Sizing: Match Coverage to the Space You Actually Use
Measure the area where people sit, not the whole yard. Multiply its length by its width to get square feet, then compare that figure with the heat coverage area listed for each model. Among the electric heaters, the SBT-15S covers 30ft², the G15R and E18rw each cover 40ft², and the E24R and E24rw each cover 65ft². The G30R covers 80ft², and the E32R and E32rw each cover 90ft². The Torrid T4000/8R covers 120ft², the T6000/12R2 covers 230 sq ft, and the T6000/18R2 covers 300ft². For a long dining area or a wide deck, you'll usually get more even warmth from two or more smaller heaters spaced along the space than from one large unit at one end.
Check the length of your mounting surface too. The electric heaters range from the 25" G15R to the 83.5" E32rw. The Torrid Series is specified for a mounting height of 7-16ft. For other models, use the mounting guidance in the product specs and manual. For the propane towers, check that you have overhead clearance for an 89", 93" or 96" heater, and keep it well away from awnings, umbrellas and plants.
Power, Installation and Weather Ratings
Hardwired heaters such as the Torrid, E Series and G30R should be installed by a licensed electrician. The circuit has to match the amperage and voltage on the spec sheet. If you'd rather not run new wiring, the G15R and SBT-15S plug into a standard outlet. Torrid heaters carry an IP67 rating. Genesis models, the bistro heater and the propane towers are rated IPX5 (where listed). E Series heaters are rated IPX4, so they're best placed under a roof or overhang. The E18rw, E24rw and E32rw add WiFi smartphone app control and come with an extra remote. A remote control also comes with the Torrid, Genesis, E24R and E32R models.
Care, Propane Use and Replacement Parts
Turn off and cool electric heaters before cleaning. Wipe the housing with a dry or slightly damp cloth, and keep dust and cobwebs off the reflector so heat reaches you instead of the fixture. The Torrid Series uses replaceable Golden Tube elements, which extends the heater's useful life. For propane models, check the hose and regulator connections each season, and store the heater covered when you aren't using it. As a guide to fuel use, Real Flame heaters burn 1.44 lbs/hr, Tower Flame heaters 1.85 lbs/hr, and Pyramid Flame heaters .99-1.91 lbs/hr. The Real Flame and Pyramid Flame models include a wheel kit, so they're easier to move.
