How to Choose a Dartboard Cabinet

Start with where the cabinet will hang and how you play. A good dartboard cabinet frames the board, gives your darts and scoring tools a home, and closes to protect the board. Closed, it looks like a wall cabinet instead of a target. Before you pick one, think about these factors:

  • Wall space. Compact styles such as the Strikers and the Bullseye Darts Club cabinet measure 24 in. wide by 27 in. high assembled. The Billiards cabinet is taller at 24 in W x 39 in H. The Cue Holder cabinet is a tall statement piece at 65 in H x 36 in W.
  • Scoring. Decide how you want to keep score. The DCAB1 has a dry-erase scoreboard on each door, the Billiards cabinet has a built-in chalkboard scoreboard, and the R641 has an interior scoreboard.
  • Storage. The DCAB1 stores two sets of darts and a marker, and each door holds three darts. The R641 adds accessory storage. If you also play pool, the DCAB2 doubles as a cue holder, so one piece covers both games.
  • Style. Pick a themed, hand-painted cabinet if you want a pub or game-room look, or a classic wood finish if the cabinet needs to blend in with a living room or home office.

If you already own a board and only want the cabinet, check what each listing includes and compare the cabinet with your board before you order. If anything is unclear, email info@furnetta.com and we'll confirm the details with the manufacturer.

Materials and Finishes

Most of the range is solid wood. The Strikers and R641 combine a solid wood cabinet with polyresin accents, a molded material that holds fine sculpted detail like the crossed darts on the R641. The Billiards cabinet uses MDF and polyresin, and the Cue Holder pairs solid wood with veneer.

The themed cabinets have hand-painted finishes, so each one has its own character. The classic cabinets come in wood-tone and painted finishes. The DCAB1 and DCAB2 are offered in Black, Chestnut, Cappuccino, English Tudor, Slate, and Antique White. The Square DCAB3 has five finish options: English Tudor, Chestnut, Cappuccino, Black, and Antique White. The DCAB1 also adds crown molding and beveled doors for a more furniture-like look.

To match your room, put darker tones like Black or English Tudor against wood paneling, and lighter tones like Antique White in a bright family room. If you're furnishing a whole game room or home bar, our storage and display cabinets hold glassware, board games, and spare darts. For trophies and collectibles, display cabinets with glass doors keep them visible and dust-free.

Sizing, Placement, and Mounting

Measure the wall before you measure anything else. Allow for the full assembled width plus room for the doors to swing open on both sides. A closed cabinet takes up far less space than an open one, and an open door shouldn't block a walkway, light switch, or doorway.

  • Hanging height and throw line. Look up the official height and throw distance for the game you play (steel-tip and soft-tip rules can differ). Center the board, not the cabinet frame, at that height.
  • Weight and anchoring. Assembled weights range from 15 lbs for the DCAB1 to 40 lb for the Cue Holder. Mount into wall studs or use anchors rated for the load, and keep in mind that darts hitting the board add repeated force.
  • Protect the area around the board. The open doors give some cover around the board, but keep the throwing lane clear and consider a protective mat on the floor.
  • Lighting. None of the cabinets in this collection list built-in lights, so plan an overhead or wall-mounted light that shines evenly on the board without casting shadows.

Thinking about building your own from dartboard cabinet plans? A DIY build can work if you have the tools and time. A ready-made cabinet saves you the cutting, finishing, and painting, and its dimensions are already known, so you can plan the wall in advance.

Caring for Your Cabinet

Dust the cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. Skip harsh cleaners and abrasive pads, especially on hand-painted and polyresin surfaces. Keep wood away from direct heat and very humid spots, which can warp doors and loosen joints over time. Use only dry-erase markers on dry-erase scoreboards and only chalk on chalkboards, and wipe them clean after each session so old scores don't ghost. Check the hinges and wall fasteners now and then. Rotate a bristle board regularly so wear spreads evenly across it.

Frequently asked questions

What size dartboard cabinet do I need?
Choose based on your wall space and storage needs. Our most compact option, the DCAB1, measures 22 x 3.5 x 25 in. The Strikers and R641 are 24 in. wide by 27 in. high. For a bigger presence, the Square DCAB3 is 30.25 in. wide, and the Cue Holder stands 65 in high. Leave room on both sides for the doors to open.
Does a dartboard come with the cabinet?
It depends on the model, so check each product page before you order. The DCAB1 listing describes a solid wood cabinet that conceals a bristle dartboard. Other listings focus on the cabinet itself. If you're unsure what's in the box, email info@furnetta.com and we'll confirm the contents with the manufacturer before you buy.
Which dartboard cabinets have a scoreboard?
Several do. The DCAB1 has a dry-erase scoreboard on each door and stores two sets of darts and a marker. The Billiards cabinet (R933) has a built-in chalkboard scoreboard. The Bullseye Darts Club cabinet (R641) has an interior scoreboard plus accessory storage. All of them keep score right at the board, so you don't need a separate whiteboard.
Can I put an electronic dartboard in a dartboard cabinet?
Only if the board fits and you can get power to it. Electronic boards are often a different size and shape from bristle boards, and they need a power source, so a cabinet built for a bristle board may not fit one. Compare your board's dimensions with the cabinet's listing, and plan for cord routing, before you buy.
How high should I hang a dartboard cabinet?
Hang it so the bullseye, not the top of the cabinet, sits at the official regulation height for your game. Then mark the throw line at the regulation distance. Mount into wall studs or use anchors rated for the cabinet's weight, and make sure the open doors won't block a walkway, light switch, or doorway.
How long does shipping take for a dartboard cabinet?
Our dartboard cabinets ship from the manufacturer within 3–10 business days. Once dispatched, standard delivery typically takes 3–5 business days. The carrier and delivery date are confirmed after you order, and all dates are estimates. Orders of $200 or more ship free within the contiguous United States.
Can I return a dartboard cabinet?
Yes, within 60 days from the delivery date, as long as the item is unused, in the same condition you received it, and in its original packaging. Email info@furnetta.com first to get a Return Authorization number. You pay shipping both ways, the original shipping cost is deducted, and a 20% restocking fee applies. Damaged items reported within 7 days are handled at no cost to you.
