How to Choose Origins by Alpine Furniture

Bedroom pieces

Measure your wall and walkway before you pick a dresser. Seven-drawer dressers such as the Milo and Larsen measure 56"W x 18"D, while small chests like the Saige and Larsen are 32"W for tighter rooms. Nightstands from several collections share a 24"H x 16"D x 24"W footprint, so you can mix finishes and still get a matched look. Check the nightstand height against the top of your mattress so the surface sits close to level.

Depending on the collection, beds come in Full, Queen, Standard King, and California King. The panel beds need a box spring, which is sold separately. If you want to keep your current base, several headboards are designed to attach to a standard metal bed frame.

TV stands and consoles

Pick the console based on your screen size and wall width. The Bowen and Vintage Barn Door consoles fit TVs up to 65", the Nara 80" console fits flat screens up to 85" or larger, and the Harbor Bay is 94.25" wide for a full media wall. If you keep components inside, look for built-in cable routing holes and the Nara's IR-friendly slatted doors.

Desks and outdoor heat

Mini desks measure 36"W x 20"D x 30"H and fit a bedroom corner. Large desks measure 52"W x 24"D x 30"H and give you three drawers and more work surface. For outdoors, you can choose a portable smokeless fire pit for wood fires, a gas fire pit table that doubles as a coffee table, or a standing heater with tip-over and flame-out safety for a patio dining area. Materials and Construction

Most bedroom pieces are built from mahogany solids and veneer. Some use oak or Gmelina veneer over mahogany solids, and Trig pieces use pine solids and veneer. Living room pieces made in Mexico use walnut veneer and MDF (Sequoia), poplar solids with Okoume veneer (Nara), or pine solids and MDF (Bowen). The bedroom pieces listed here are made in Indonesia. The fire pits and heaters are steel or aluminum and made in China.

Drawer details to look for:

• Dovetail joints: English dovetail drawers on many chests and nightstands, and French and English dovetails on the Nova Bench
• Smooth glides: metal ball bearing glides, with soft-close glides on nightstands such as Ruby, Kara, Luca, Allison, and Wilmar

Caring for Your Pieces

Dust wood surfaces with a soft, dry cloth and wipe up spills right away. Use coasters and felt pads to protect veneer tops. Keep pieces out of strong direct sunlight to slow fading, and avoid harsh chemical cleaners or soaking-wet cloths. Pull drawers out straight rather than by one corner. For fire pits and heaters, let them cool completely, empty the Terra's pull-out ash pan after each fire, cover outdoor pieces when you're not using them, and follow the safety instructions included with each unit.

Shipping, Delivery, and Returns

Origins by Alpine orders ship from the Alpine Furniture warehouse in Southern California in 3–10 business days. Transit to the contiguous US then typically takes 3–5 business days. Nightstands, mirrors, desks, and fire pits ship by ground parcel. Dressers, beds, and consoles ship by LTL freight with curbside delivery. You'll get tracking by email once your order ships. Orders of $200 or more ship free, and pieces here start from $245.

Freight deliveries are tailgate deliveries, which means you unload the item from the truck, so plan for two or more people. Inspect your order on arrival and report any damage within 7 days, with photos. Damaged or defective items are repaired, replaced, or refunded at no cost to you. You can return unused items in their original packaging within 60 days of delivery. You pay shipping both ways, the original shipping cost is deducted from your refund, and a 20% restocking fee applies. You can cancel free of charge any time before your order ships.
